Album Description

Submarine is the second studio album by American indie pop band The Marías, originally released in 2024. Blending dreamy synthesizers, atmospheric guitars, hypnotic basslines, and María Zardoya's distinctive vocals, the album creates an immersive sound influenced by dream pop, alternative rock, psychedelic music, and electronic pop.

Following their debut album Cinema, Submarine explores themes of heartbreak, solitude, emotional distance, self-discovery, and personal transformation. Its underwater-inspired concept reflects feelings of isolation and introspection, combining intimate songwriting with lush production and cinematic arrangements.

Featuring standout tracks such as “Run Your Mouth,” “No One Noticed,” “Echo,” “Love You Anyway,” and “Sienna,” the album moves between melancholic ballads, rhythmic indie pop, and atmospheric electronic soundscapes.

Celebrating the album's second anniversary, this special edition is pressed on half-clear, half-sea-blue vinyl and features alternative cover artwork. Released as part of the RSD Essentials series, this indie-exclusive pressing offers a collectible physical edition of the band's acclaimed sophomore album.
